A new day, a new blog

Bluebells in the forest at dawn
Bluebells at dawn in April 2020.

I have decided to relaunch my blog. This has been on my “to do” list for a while. For the last couple of years, as part of my SEDA annual CPD, I had an intention to rethink my social media presence again and start blogging, but then life got in the way. Perhaps it is a lockdown cliche to restart blogging, although I did write a few posts a few months ago which I have not posted. I was going to start a whole new site about Lego Serious Play, which I will do, but decided that actually just starting blogging again would be good. So here we are!

Its been two years since I blogged about my attempts to go plastic free for Lent – in lockdown the notion of being plastic free seems insane – but some of the things I tried then are still happening, I still make yoghurt for example (most of the time!).

Writing this as we draw to the end of lockdown here (starting our 11th week) although without any imminent return to work or childcare restarting, seems a very long time since wondering how to obtain plastic free cheese. A lot has happened in those two years.

I’m going to use this blog to post my thoughts on juggling life as a working mother of four, particularly at the moment without childcare and working from home, leadership and educational development, play and learning. And really whatever else that comes to mind! I’ve been inspired by listening to podcasts and reading other blogs of working parents, particularly Laura Vanderkam and Sarah Hart-Unger, and not overthinking things, just writingI should find some UK parent bloggers too – there must be some!
