Gunpowder, treason and plot!

I love autumn and I love Bonfire Night. I have lots of happy childhood memories of the excitement of going out after dark to stand in a field (well school playground) watching fireworks. Sadly this year our local firework display is cancelled, although there was a pretty big one last night at a local school that the kids watched from the window.
Today is the end of the second half term so I took the day off, ended up doing some bits and pieces of thinking stuff this morning – mainly those things that I didn’t do yesterday – and finding some peace/order to my working life.

It was another beautiful autumn day but the kids had money burning holes in their pockets after my brother visited recently so persuaded me down to the mall to look for sudoku books. Can hardly complain about that as I love a good bookshop! Plus we managed to pop to the local firework shop and get some sparklers and a few fireworks.
Then managed to persuade the kids out for an autumn walk, although it had got a bit cloudy but a walk in the woods, a bit of tree hugging and some mushroom spotting is always good.
